Film Melodies with Melody Quartet
A string quartet performs stylish arrangements of beloved film scores in the elegant setting of the Jeruzalémská Synagogue.
The Jeruzalémská synagogue, also called the Jubilee Synagogue, is the largest synagogue in Prague. Viennese architect Wilhelm Stiassný designed it in 1905-1906 to replace three synagogues demolished during the redevelopment of the Prague ghetto; its original name commemorated the 50th anniversary of Emperor Franz Joseph I's reign. The facade blends Moorish Revival with Art Nouveau, and the interior features richly painted ornaments uncovered during restoration work in the 1990s. Religious services are still held here, and the building is open to visitors.
