About the venue

Točník is a Gothic royal castle built around 1400 for King Wenceslas IV, who used it as a favoured residence. The courtyard today hosts open-air theatre, jousting festivals and summer concerts against a backdrop of well-preserved medieval stonework. The ruins stand above the Central Bohemian countryside with views stretching to the neighbouring castle of Žebrák.
