About the venue

Strakonice Castle is a medieval fortress in the town centre, with origins dating to the 13th century. It was once the seat of the Knights of St. John and today houses a museum alongside regular cultural events. The castle is best known as the venue for the International Bagpipe Festival, one of the largest folk music gatherings in Europe.
