About the venue

The Prague City Gallery's exhibition space occupies the 2nd floor of the Municipal Library building on Mariánské Square. The library was built between 1925 and 1928 to a design by František Roith, a pupil of Otto Wagner, and was the first purpose-built library in Czechoslovakia. The travertine-clad façade features allegorical sculptures by Ladislav Kofránek above the main entrance. The gallery focuses on Czech modern and contemporary art.
