About the venue

The Institute of Geophysics of the CAS is a public research institution in Prague's Záběhlice district, tracing its origins to the State Institute of Geophysics founded in 1920. It has operated as an independent institution within the Academy of Sciences since 1 January 1953. Research covers the physics of the solid Earth - seismology, geomagnetism, geoelectricity, heat flow and geodynamics. The institute also runs a network of geophysical observatories connected to international monitoring systems.
