About the venue

Galerie města Třince (City Gallery of Třinec) opened in April 2012 as a specialist branch of the Třinec municipal library, based in the KD Trisia cultural centre on Náměstí Svobody. It focuses on contemporary art, staging curated exhibitions of borrowed works by Czech and international artists rather than building its own collection. A second space - the Malá galerie - operates within the library building on Lidická street. Each exhibition is accompanied by educational programmes for schools and the general public.
