About the venue

The Prague Congress Centre (KCP) is a large neofunctionalist building in the Nusle district of Prague 4, originally opened in 1981 as the Palace of Culture. Designed by architects Mayer, Vaněk and Karlík, it served among other things as a venue for Communist Party congresses. After a thorough reconstruction in 1998-2000 it became one of Europe's biggest conference venues, with capacity for over 9,300 people across more than 50 halls and meeting rooms. The main Congress Hall seats 2,764 and its acoustics make it suitable for concerts as well. The centre sits directly at Vyšehrad metro station (line C).
