So Our Feet Don't Get Cold
An exhibition exploring the centuries-old tradition of woollen stocking and sock production in the Beskydy region, presented through cultural and historical perspectives.
CETRAT (Centre of Traditional Technologies) is a museum and experimental research facility housed in a former Piarist monastery in Příbor, operating as a branch of the Museum of the Nový Jičín Region since 2020. It focuses on researching and reconstructing forgotten handicraft techniques for processing natural materials. The permanent exhibition "The Lost World of Handicraft Production" spreads across four halls and covers techniques such as knitting the traditional Příbor slippers on a form, thread-making, and working with bark, grass and other natural materials. Visitors can try selected techniques hands-on in the experimentarium.
