Beneš Villa in Sezimovo Ústí (Czech Government Office)

Sezimovo Ústí

About the venue

The villa of Hana and Edvard Beneš was built in 1930-1931 to a design by architect Petr Kropáček, at the confluence of the Kozský stream and the Lužnice river. Its style draws on southern French rural architecture - low roofs, plain walls and bright rooms. President Beneš rested here, received guests and died in the villa in 1948. The complex includes a large garden, the Edvard Beneš Memorial and the couple's tomb designed by architect Pavel Janák. Since 2026 the entire site has been managed by the Hussite Museum in Tábor.
