Artwall Praha 7

Prague

About the venue

Artwall is an outdoor gallery set in the monumental niches of the Letná park retaining wall along the Vltava embankment - the largest public-art gallery in the Czech Republic, free and open around the clock. The idea of using the wall, once a surface for communist propaganda, came from American artist Barbara Benish in the late 1990s; regular programming began in 2005 and resumed in 2011 after a forced closure. Exhibitions focus on contemporary art that engages with social and political issues.
