About the venue

Ruins of a Gothic castle perched on a prominent quartzite rock near Blovice in southern Bohemia's Plzeň region. The site is first recorded in 1284, and the Rosenbergs gave it its current stone form after 1360. In 1451 the Vlčtejn Treaty between the Podiebrad and Rosenberg factions was signed here. A rectangular palace, part of the perimeter wall and a system of ditches and ramparts have survived; the complex has been a listed monument since 1963 and is freely accessible.
