🎬 A Happy Family

Niki works at two jobs, but her meager earnings barely cover living expenses and caring for her two small children. When the children are left unsupervised, they accidentally set the kitchen on fire, and Swiss authorities place them in a foster family on the other side of the country. Despite a ban, Niki decides to track them down. The film is based on a true event. Its strength lies in a powerful yet ambivalent character whose actions illuminate both the contours of a rigid social system and the pressing interface between parental instinct and personal responsibility. The dramatic arc of the film is reinforced by an extraordinarily convincing performance by actress Anna Schinz.
