The second installment of the film saga about a dangerous journey aimed at destroying a cursed ring of power begins where the first one ended. The hobbit Frodo remains the main hero. He obtained a magical ring from his relative Bilbo, which the dark Sauron longs for, and thus found himself in the very center of the battle between the forces of light and darkness. Frodo as the leader of a fellowship composed of his friends, a wizard, an elf, a dwarf and other helpers continues on the journey to the summit of a volcano, where he will destroy the ring once and for all. The first installment was nominated for a Golden Globe and won an AFI award. Thanks to audience interest, it exceeded earnings of 350 million dollars and above all convinced book enthusiasts that this now classic story could be successfully adapted into film.
