The full-length directorial debut of young Hungarian filmmaker Idikó Enyedi is a charming fantasy frolic, an unbridled cinematic meditation on the largely squandered possibilities of mankind on the threshold of the twentieth century. It is a meditation embodied in a fictional story of two mutually unknown twin sisters with diametrically opposite life paths. The girls independently encounter the sympathetic Mr. Z., who assumes he is meeting one and the same woman.

Ildikó Enyedi is a Hungarian film director whose black-and-white debut My 20th Century (1989) won the Caméra d'Or at Cannes. Her films blend poetic surrealism with philosophical depth. After a long hiatus, she returned with On Body and Soul (2017), which took the Golden Bear at the Berlinale.
