On the Danish island of Bornholm, trolls live deep underground, where their fun-filled lives are governed by strict rules. The most important one is clear: never go to the surface, because humans are dangerous. Curious and mischievous Snippkin is to become the next master of the cave and protect the trolls from humans. But instead, he prefers to play pranks and fly on the backs of bats. When one day strange rumbling is heard from the surface, he secretly heads up to find out what is happening. Unexpectedly, however, his little sister follows him – and their innocent expedition soon turns into an unexpected adventure in the world of humans, full of danger, magic and experiences that will open Snippkin to a completely new world.
