George P. Cosmatos was a Greek-Canadian film director known for action and genre films such as Rambo: First Blood Part II, Cobra and Tombstone. In 1989 he directed the horror film Leviathan, set on the ocean floor, where the crew of a mining station encounters a mutated monster. He died in 2005.
