The nineteen-fifties. Beginning writer Elias wants to experience firsthand what "real life" is like among sailors, prostitutes and gangsters in the port of Buenos Aires. He soon becomes a translator-advisor for the correspondence of local prostitutes and is accepted here as a person with a special standing. Until the day when love for two women leads him to tragic catastrophe.
