The Tailor for Ladies (2012)
- Genre: Comedy
- Runtime: 100 min
- Released: 2012-06-14
Doctor Moulinot, a respected citizen and physician, has one practice, one wife, one mistress, and one mother-in-law. But what happens when he carelessly stretches his evening flirtation into the morning, and precisely on the day his mother-in-law is supposed to visit? In order to save his honor and marriage, he must invent a small lie, which, however, triggers an avalanche of much larger lies, excuses, and comic misunderstandings. And because Moulinot is an excellent liar who is willing to do virtually anything to cover up his marital infidelity, he does not hesitate to even pose as a ladies' tailor. The successful production by director Martin Čičvák builds on flawless acting performances and underscores the principle of chance. Chance, which soon exposes the hero of the story as a liar, forcing him to help himself with further, more absurd lies and to continue "dancing over the abyss" until a surprising ending. Ondřej Sokol delivers an excellent comedic performance in the title role.
