Spider-Man (2002)

A Marvel Comics-inspired film following Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire), an awkward high school student and orphan bullied by his classmates, unable to confess his love to his neighbour Mary Jane Watson. Everything changes unexpectedly when a radioactive spider escapes during a school field trip and bites him. Peter suddenly gains superhuman flexibility, sharp vision, the ability to climb walls, and can shoot webs from his wrists.

But a heroic life comes with enemies. Eccentric millionaire Norman Osborn (Willem Dafoe) tests experimental drugs on himself and transforms into the maniacal Green Goblin. Peter has no choice - he must face the Goblin as Spider-Man, or the Goblin will kill him.
