The exhibition presents the work of Jan Rousek, a filmmaker and artist who explores the reflection of colonialism in Czechoslovak film history. Through films, archival materials, and gallery installations, he opens questions about how perceptions of Africa and its inhabitants were shaped.

About the venue: etc. gallery

etc. galerie is a non-commercial contemporary art gallery in Prague's Vinohrady district, founded in 2004 as one of the city's first independent exhibition spaces. It focuses on moving image - film and video addressing current socio-political issues - through exhibitions, screenings and discussions. Each year the gallery produces two solo shows alongside new audiovisual works, and collaborates with cultural and educational institutions as part of ongoing research projects.
