Eastern Promises by Kamila Dolotina: Notes of a Real Criminal + Discussion with Eva Čeplová

Eastern Promises is a curatorial programme by film dramaturg and publicist Kamila Dolotina. The programme aims to present the latest East European cinema in dialogue with its classics and contemporary culture - each film is placed in a broader context through discussion. The programme continues the section of the same name presented at the Summer Film School in Uherské Hradiště.

Notes of a Real Criminal is a documentary from the Venice Film Festival in which a pair of directors investigates threads of personal and historical memory, tracing events that shaped Ukrainian history and the fates of its inhabitants. The film addresses both the Russian invasion and the pressing present, as well as the cyclical nature of history itself.

Following the screening, there will be a discussion with Eva Čeplová.
