Dream Team

The main character of the comedy Dream Team is Marek, a determined basketball coach who fails to lead his team into the second national league and considers quitting coaching. His son Šimon, who has an intellectual disability, dreams of competing at the Paralympics for the national team.

Marek decides to make his son's dream come true - but cannot assemble enough athletes who meet Paralympic criteria. Then his neighbour Daniel, a failed theatre director, steps in with a curious plan: form a team of healthy basketball players who will pretend to have intellectual disabilities. Marek knows it is unethical, but he thinks only of Šimon's happiness.

An expedition full of fake disabled athletes heads to Rio de Janeiro - and only under the Brazilian sun does Marek begin to fully realize what a huge mess he has gotten himself into.
