The Jungle's Secret

The animated film "The Jungle's Secret" follows nine-year-old Elisabeth, who spends her summer holidays with a family living at a research station deep in the Amazon rainforest - her father works there as a cartographer and jungle expert.

When her father is injured and her mother takes him to the hospital, Elisabeth is left to look after her little brother Leo. But he wanders off into the jungle, and she must find him before her parents return. Her journey through the mysterious forest leads her to the mystical Devil's Mountain, where the children, together with a new friend and their animal companion Hairball - a member of a previously undiscovered jungle community - face off against three poachers hunting rare animal species. They also receive help from members of a mysterious tribe.

The film was created through a Czech-Latvian-Polish collaboration; the Czech side was represented by the production company Hausboot Production, also known for the animated film "Mice Belong to Heaven".
