Markéta Irglová is an Oscar, Grammy and multi-award-winning composer and performer. She lives and creates in Iceland, performing worldwide - as a solo artist, in a duo with Glen Hansard, or as part of The Swell Season.

She has released four solo albums: Anar (2011), Muna (2014), Lila (2021) and Where You Belong (2024). Beyond songwriting, she composes for film and theatre and produces her own music videos.

At the Soundtrack Poděbrady festival, she will perform on Friday, August 28, 2026 in the castle gardens. The programme will feature songs from her solo work and the film Once, including the Oscar-winning Falling Slowly - with the possibility of musical surprises.
