Chica Checa
Fifty-five-year-old Zdena appears to lead an ordinary life as a rural postwoman - her house is falling apart, and she fills her solitude with cucumbers and television. Her son Lukáš lives in France, successful and happy, or so it seems through the screen of an old computer, where they occasionally stay in touch.
When ninety-year-old grandmother Věra expresses her final wish - to see Helena Vondráčková - it seems like the whim of a dying woman. But Lukáš's return home brings a secret he has carefully guarded for years: he is gay and works as a drag queen named Chica Checa.
The effort to fulfill grandmother's wish brings Lukáš and Zdena closer together - and reveals that Zdena herself longs for a different life than those around her expect. Because when you stop lying to those closest to you, you must stop lying to yourself.
