Zelenka Festival Prague - Dresden 2026

The Zelenka Festival Prague - Dresden 2026 takes place from 15 to 20 October in Prague and Dresden.

The opening concert on 15 October features Ensemble Inégal together with Dresdner Kammerchor, performing Zelenka's Miserere d moll ZWV 56 and his arrangement of Gregorio Allegri's Miserere, a 17th-century Italian composer. Both ensembles will repeat the same programme on 16 October at Dreikönigskirche in Dresden.

The second Prague concert on 18 October focuses on Zelenka's secular vocal works. The Slovak ensemble Musica Aeterna, led by Peter Zajíček, together with soloists Gabriela Eibenová and Lenka Cafourková, will perform operatic numbers from the Dresden repertoire from the period when Jan Dismas Zelenka worked as a teacher of Italian singers.

The closing concert is devoted to instrumental music: the French ensemble of young virtuosos Le Chapitre will bring the second part of Zelenka's cycle of Trio Sonatas, whose publication in the mid-20th century revived interest in Zelenka's work.
