Where Is the Friend's House? — Kino Aero, Prague

The first part of Abbas Kiarostami's so-called Koker trilogy follows a young boy who accidentally takes home his classmate's notebook from school. To protect his friend from a stern teacher, Ahmed sets out to return it - but he doesn't know where his classmate lives.

Kiarostami set this simple odyssey in the remote brick village of Koker in Iran's Gilan province, and through the eyes of an honest boy, he portrayed the microcosm of two neighboring villages and the relationships of their inhabitants. The film is considered a pure work of everyday life with the visual power of Italian neorealism.
