Marta — Letní scéna Musea Kampa, Prague

A theatrical recital about the life of Marta Kubisova.

A singer, Charter 77 advocate and dissident, animal rights activist, mother, loyal friend, and national icon. A woman of glamour and a woman of the people.

The recital traces the most crucial period of her life - the story of a woman who never bent her back to power and totalitarianism, never signed anything with the excuse "I just wanted to sing". The wives of communist leaders saw her as a sorceress corrupting the morals of socialist youth; meanwhile, she walked dogs after performances and after a second meeting with a man felt it was a serious relationship. The production asks where this woman's heroism came from and whether she had any choice at all.

The recital is full of songs and live music. Hana Holisova won the Thalia award for her role as Marta Kubisova; Berenika Kohoutova was nominated for the Thalia.

The organizer offers VIP seating at a table with a glass of wine, refreshments, a blanket, and a gift bag with the programme and a souvenir; guests have their own hostess and, in case of rain, a large umbrella. DELUXE tickets include a front-row seat, gift bag, printed programme, blanket, and raincoat.

A new feature this season is backstage tours of the productions "FORMAN, WERICH, MEDA and MARTA" - led by one of the actors and offering a personal perspective and context you don't usually see on stage. Tours run from 17:30 to 18:30 before each performance and end with light refreshments in the form of a picnic.
