Jazz On The Roof: Jazz Volunteers

As part of the Jazz On The Roof summer concert series, chamber jazz ensembles perform every Saturday on the roof of Jazz Dock. This week features the Sextet Jazz Volunteers.

The ensemble was born from the collaboration of Martin Jůzl and Filip Kučera, united by their love of Cannonball Adderley's music and a conviction that this style was missing from the Czech jazz scene. Hard bop with strong blues and soul elements forms the foundation that "JV" develops in their own interpretation. The repertoire includes both original Adderley compositions and the group's own works.

Jůzl and Kučera have invited musicians from various genres who share their vision.
