The Secret of the Crystal Planet

Eleven-year-old Rea moves with her father to a newly settled planet following a family tragedy, where he takes a job at a replication factory. There she befriends Andy, and together they discover an underground world whose existence humanity never suspected. When they find a lonely young creature of a rare species, they decide to protect it from a greedy governor who wants to exploit the animal for profit. Their search for the truth leads them into dangerous caves, where they uncover how reckless waste disposal threatens the entire hidden ecosystem.
