About the venue: Agharta Jazz Centre

AghaRTA Jazz Centrum is a jazz club set in a Gothic cellar in the heart of Prague's Old Town. It opened on 29 September 1991 — the day after Miles Davis died — and takes its name from his 1975 album. Top Czech and international jazz musicians perform here every evening. The club also organises the year-round AghaRTA Prague Jazz Festival and sells recordings from the ARTA Records label.

About: František Uhlíř

František Uhlíř is a Czech jazz double bassist active on the modern jazz scene. He leads the František Uhlíř Team (F.U.T.), a chamber jazz project built on close interplay between its musicians. He collaborates with both Czech and international jazz artists.

About: Andy Schofield

Andy Schofield is a jazz saxophonist active on the Czech jazz scene. He collaborates with leading Czech jazz musicians, including bassist František Uhlíř as part of the František Uhlíř Team. His playing is marked by a modern jazz sensibility and a chamber-music approach to improvisation.
