Arrietty and the World of the Borrowers

Arrietty lives with her parents between the walls and under the floorboards of a house where the grandmother of a young boy named Sho resides. Like all borrowers, she and her family borrow everything they need from the large people around them. On the very day Sho arrives, Arrietty embarks on her first supply-gathering expedition with her father.

The film is based on the internationally popular series by British author Mary Norton, published in Czech as Pidilidi. The screenplay was written by Hayao Miyazaki, and the film was directed by animator Hiromasa Yonebayashi, who previously worked on most Studio Ghibli productions starting with Princess Mononoke.
