The seventh edition of the Guitar September classical guitar festival presents four concerts featuring contemporary and traditional classical guitar.

The festival opens with a concert by the Czech-German festival guitar orchestra, whose solo programme will be complemented by Finnish guitarist Patrik Kleemola. In collaboration with the Philharmonic Society, there will also be a morning concert by Lukáš Sommer and Anna Paulová aimed at parents with children. The evening programme features a solo recital by Petr Poláček, and the festival closes with the composer duo Ivan Boreš & Vojtěch Vrtiška.

The festival also includes the Prague Guitar Forum at the Werich Villa in Prague - a weekend event for classical guitar professionals featuring workshops, educational activities, and expert discussions.

About: Lukáš Sommer

Lukáš Sommer (b. 1984, České Budějovice) is a Czech concert guitarist, composer, and arranger. He studied at conservatories in České Budějovice and Prague and at HAMU. His works span orchestral, chamber, and vocal music performed internationally, and he has given solo recitals at venues including Carnegie Hall. His versatility makes him a sought-after collaborator for interdisciplinary projects combining music, theatre, and spoken word.

About: Anna Paulová

Anna Paulová (born 1993) is a Czech clarinettist regarded as one of the most prominent of her generation. She won 2nd prize at the Prague Spring International Music Competition in 2015 and first prize at the Bohuslav Martinů Foundation Competition in 2016. She specialises in performing Mozart's clarinet repertoire on the basset clarinet. Her debut album, featuring music by Karel Husa and Bohuslav Martinů, was released on Supraphon in 2023.
