Kaple sv. Kříže, Opava · Vstupenky na GoOut, v Obecním domě or na místě
The Gothic Holy Cross Chapel, also known as the Swedish Chapel, is one of three national cultural monuments in Opava. Dating from the late 14th century, it was built during the reign of Opava's Přemyslid prince Přemek of Opava. The interior features a unique wall cycle depicting the apocalypse with 15 signs of the end of the world. The chapel stands on an octagonal floor plan and was originally covered by a star vault, which was lost due to later reconstructions.
The guided tour will explore the chapel's original appearance, subsequent renovations, and restoration efforts. The tour is led by Dalibor Halátek from the National Heritage Institute, with an estimated duration of 60 minutes. The meeting point is in front of the Swedish Chapel on Ratibořská Street.
Tickets are available on GoOut, at the reception of the Municipal House, or on-site.
