Enchanting Elsa arrives on sunny Lanzarote in 2004 to escape a life crisis and seek a fresh start. It is a story written by aging acclaimed director Raúl - except the events and characters suspiciously resemble the fates of his loved ones. They begin to recognize themselves in the film and ask uncomfortable questions: where does inspiration end and privacy begin?

With this film, Pedro Almodóvar returned to the main competition at the Cannes Festival.
