Flood

Potopa is set in Czechoslovakia in 1980. Fifteen-year-old Mara dreams of becoming a pilot and escaping village life, but her father Alexander - a Ruthenian farmer and widower - insists she stay and work the family land.

The situation becomes more complicated when news arrives that the entire valley will be flooded due to the construction of the Starina water reservoir. Both face the loss of their home and family heritage while searching for reconciliation amid the clash of tradition, identity, and the desire for freedom.
