Jazz On The Roof: Jaroslav Šindler Quartet

As part of the Jazz On The Roof summer concert series, chamber jazz ensembles perform on the roof of Jazz Dock every Saturday with an acoustic programme.

The Jaroslav Šindler Quartet features four seasoned soloists: Jaroslav Šindler (guitar), Jan Štolba (tenor saxophone), Vít Švec (double bass), and Jan Červenka (drums). Each has collaborated with leading jazz musicians including Jiří Stivín, Alan Vitouš, Michel Montanare, John Serry, and Dean Brown. Their musical range spans jazz and funk, classical music, and free improvisation.

The quartet performs exclusively original material, captured on the album Fjords. The compositions range from swing-bop and Latin to jazz ballads, occasionally venturing into more experimental territory - such as dodecaphonic funk and other subtle eccentricities. There is also room for jazz improvisation.
