Chica Checa
Fifty-three-year-old Zdena appears to lead an ordinary life as a rural postal worker - her house is falling apart, she fills her solitude with pickles and television. Her son Lukáš lives in France, successful and distant, or so it seems through the screen of an old computer.
When ninety-year-old grandmother Věra expresses her final wish - to see Helena Vondráčková - it seems like the whim of a dying woman. But Lukáš's return home brings a secret he has carefully guarded for years: he is gay and works as a drag queen named Chica Checa.
The attempt to fulfill grandmother's wish will bring Lukáš and Zdena closer together - and at the same time reveal that she too has not been living as she truly wanted. Because when you stop lying to those closest to you, you must stop lying to yourself.
