Lesley Manville (BAFTA award-winner, known from The Crown and The Haunting of Bly Manor) and Aidan Turner (Poldark, The Hobbit) meet in a new production of the celebrated adaptation of a classic French novel. The story unfolds in the salons of the ultra-wealthy, where a single misstep can mean ruin.

The Marquise de Merteuil is a master of survival. Together with the Vicomte de Valmont, they use seduction as strategy and desire as a weapon - but when their alliance crumbles and turns into rivalry, their battle threatens to destroy everyone around them.

This production about love, lies and social warfare, filmed live on the stage of the National Theatre, was directed by Marianne Elliott (NT Live: Angels in America).
