Krylovky at Vican Winery: Luděk Minka Sings and Plays

Singer Luděk Minka fell in love with Karel Kryl's work at age 13 when he first picked up a guitar. His connection to Kryl's legacy is also personal - Marlene Kryl, the composer's widow, personally blessed Minka's album "Krylovky", which was premiered on Czech Radio in Prague and at Bolka Polívka's theatre in Brno. Minka's interpretation of the song "Srdce a kříž" (Heart and Cross) stayed in the hit parade on Czech Radio Dvojka for an entire quarter.

The August concert at Vican Winery is dedicated to the memory of Karel Kryl and recalls the first moments of regained freedom after the 1968 occupation. The programme features Kryl's songs, with Minka's own compositions closing the evening - pieces inspired by his personal life experiences.
