Ildikó Enyedi double feature

Hungarian director Ildikó Enyedi is an iconic voice in European cinema of the 20th and 21st centuries. Her love stories blend lyrical fragility with fantastical elements and distinctive visual aesthetics - constantly returning to questions of what is reality and what is dream, whether humanity still has hope to become more noble and compassionate.

Kino Aero presents a double bill of her films. The new work Silent Friend features the fates of its main characters across different historical epochs, connected by a majestic tree in a botanical garden. It is paired with her black-and-white debut My 20th Century - a fantastical meditation on humanity's missed possibilities at the threshold of modernity.
