Spitfire Company / Miřenka Čechová: DVACETjedna — Theatre 29, Pardubice

DVACETjedna is a performative anthology in which twenty female directors from around the world - from Prague, Nairobi, and Ukraine - work with the body of performer Miřenka Čechová. Each director receives two days of rehearsal to create a two-minute fragment with her. The result is twenty different perspectives on a single theme - the identity of a woman, creator, and mother who refuses to be trapped in a "doll's house". Ibsen's Nora thus finds herself in the 21st century, viewed through twenty different cultural and artistic lenses. The performer's body becomes a living catalogue of directorial approaches, in the spirit of Marina Abramović's performance Rhythm 0.

The project begins with constraints that women in creative work often experience - lack of time, space, and financial support. Each director brings her own reality and personal experience to the character, exploring how Ibsen's theme resonates in her cultural context.
