Coronation Gala Concert

A gala concert featuring music from royal courts and coronation compositions at the Spanish Hall of Prague Castle.

The programme comprises works by G. F. Handel, J. D. Zelenka, and J. J. Fux - composers connected to the European tradition of music written for crowned monarchs. The concert will feature Handel's Zadok the Priest, Zelenka's Te Deum, and Fux's Sinfonia "Turcaria". The SILENTIUM! ensemble performs under the direction of Andreas Scholl, who takes on the role of conductor for this occasion.

The SILENTIUM! ensemble specializes in authentic interpretation of Renaissance and Baroque music. Beyond well-known compositions (Bach, Monteverdi), the ensemble also presents contemporary world premieres of rediscovered works by composers such as Pavel Josef Vejvanovský, Philipp Jakob Rittler, and Anton Neumann, as well as contemporary pieces by Lukáš Hurník, Tigran Mansuryan, and Ola Gjeilo.

Andreas Scholl is a world-renowned opera singer with an alto voice, specializing in Baroque repertoire.
