MAURITANIA – Across the Black Sahara
Velkokavárna Gulliver, Zlín
from 150 Kč · ≈ 6 €
The original plan was straightforward: hitchhike from Western Sahara to Mauritania and board a 3-kilometre-long cargo train. Mauritania – the world's least touristy country, where slavery still exists and only endless desert awaits. That's how it looked before departure. But the actual journey turned out very differently.
Kuba and Nat from the DopaminEfekt project recount how they survived 15 hours on iron ore, an African hospital, and a minefield, why they spent almost nothing, and what the road taught them. Two university students who hitchhike, sleep with locals, and discover countries off the tourist trail.
