Movie Barf Monday: Odyssea + Discussion

Odysseus, king of the Greek island of Ithaca, became legendary according to Homer's tales for inventing the Trojan Horse, which sealed Troy's fate. After the wars end, he desires only one thing - to return home to his wife Penelope and son Telemachus. Yet his deeds have angered the gods, who will make his journey home as difficult as possible.

This is why the word "odyssey" became synonymous with a journey full of obstacles that lead the wanderer away from his goal rather than toward it. While Odysseus faces giants, the enchantress Circe, and other perils, his wife Penelope at home resists the suitors vying for her hand and the kingdom of Ithaca.
