Opening of the Spa Season in Jeseník 2026

Priessnitz Healing Spa and the city of Jeseník are hosting the 179th Opening of the Spa Season from May 15–17, 2026. This is one of the region's most significant social events, with a tradition dating back to 1822, when Vincenz Priessnitz founded the world's first hydrotherapy institute in Jeseník. The ceremonial opening traditionally takes place in front of the Priessnitz sanatorium and includes a meeting with historical figures of Vincenz Priessnitz and his wife Sophie, a blessing of the springs, performances by the youth wind orchestra of Jeseník Music School, and greetings from regional and city representatives. The afternoon continues with a rich cultural programme on the field behind the Priessnitz sanatorium, featuring musical and dance performances. The three-day event includes market stalls, refreshments, and entertainment for families with children. In 2026, the spa will offer traditional hydrotherapy, Balneopark, and treatments with sea salt.
