Jackal Years is a musical comedy about freedom, independence, the red star, and rock and roll. The story takes place in Prague in 1959 in the vicinity of the Internacional hotel in the Dejvice district. Into the quiet provincial life unexpectedly arrives "a man from nowhere" — a young hooligan named Bejby, who with his outlandish clothes, guitar, and passion for rock and roll shakes up the world of not only the local boys but also the adults trying not to think about the times they live in. Bejby interferes in the life of waiter's assistant Edy Drábek, district officer Prokop and his son nicknamed Kšanda, and in a way also in the life of bar singer Milada and her husband, the arrogant secret policeman Přemek.
