The Czech Philharmonic returns to Prague on 24 September 2026 at 19:30 at the concert hall on Alšovo nábřeží. This performance is one of six Czech dates the orchestra is undertaking across August and September. Conducted by Elim Chan and featuring violinist Gil Shaham, the ensemble will perform works by Prokofiev, Martinů, Stravinsky and Dvořák. The historic Rudolfinum venue provides excellent acoustics for classical music of the highest calibre.

About the venue: Czech Philharmonic

The Czech Philharmonic is the country's leading symphony orchestra, based at the Rudolfinum on Alšovo nábřeží in Prague. It was founded in 1894 and gave its first concert on 4 January 1896, conducted by Antonín Dvořák. The orchestra is a state-funded institution under the Ministry of Culture, currently led by chief conductor Semyon Bychkov; Jakub Hrůša takes over from the 2028/2029 season.

The Czech Philharmonic will enter its 131st season (2026/2027) under the direction of Semyon Bychkov with more than 20 international concerts and resident artist Janine Jansen.

The Czech Philharmonic announced that from the 2028/2029 season, Jakub Hrůša will become its new chief conductor and music director, succeeding Semyon Bychkov after his tenth season.
