Open Studio

The studio of the Janouškovi couple is located in Prague's Košíře district on U Kotlářky street, at the foot of the Skalka nature reserve. The artists built it themselves in the early 1960s on the site of a former nursery that operated during the First Republic. The design, based on Janouškov's proposal, was developed by architect Josef Hrubý, one of the authors of the Czechoslovak pavilion at Expo 58 in Brussels.

Today the house contains a permanent exhibition of sculptural works by both Vladimír and Věra Janouškovi; monumental sculptures are also installed in the garden. For Věra, the studio also served as her permanent residence.

Visitors can explore the spaces independently throughout the day. Guided tours with commentary are scheduled at 12:00 and 15:00 and are included in the admission price.
