Rings

Rings takes place thirteen years after the events of the previous film. The legend of a deadly video is dismissed as mere horror folklore - until student Julia becomes concerned by the sudden change in her boyfriend Holt's behavior after he watched the tape. Despite his warnings, the curious girl decides to watch it herself. An incomprehensible sequence of seemingly unrelated scenes culminates in a phone call from an unknown voice telling her she will die in exactly one week.

Terrifying events begin to follow Julia at every turn, so she takes the warning seriously. She soon realizes that her only chance of survival lies in understanding the video, through which Samara - the girl from the well - sent the world an encrypted message. Her search for Samara's fate leads her down a path where her life is in no less danger than if she had simply waited at home for death.
